Let’s talk about the five hotels we stayed at during this Kenya safari.
The first one: OL TUKAI in Amboseli. The hotel is quite nice, the room size is decent, and there was enough shower water for my family of four. There were many blue monkeys outside the room. We stayed in the elephant room, but no elephants came close.

At night, we saw hippos come ashore to eat grass and saw many buffaloes. The starry sky was beautiful.
The second one: Muthu Keekorok in Maasai Mara. In terms of the room, this was the worst among the five hotels, very small, with no space even for two suitcases. The good thing is that the shower water was very comfortable, with a strong flow and pleasant temperature.

At night, zebras and hippos would graze outside the room. After 7 PM, it’s not safe to play in the garden by yourself.
The third one: Sopa in Nakuru, a hotel on top of a hill, from which you can overlook the entire Lake Nakuru. The rooms are very spacious, and the bathroom is super large. The hotel’s nature walk costs $15 per person, and the guide will introduce some local plants, which is quite interesting.

The fourth one: Serena Camp in Sweetwaters. Sweetwaters is a treasure spot, and the hotel location is excellent, allowing views of the chimpanzee sanctuary and the Northern White Rhino sanctuary. You can see herds of gazelles jumping and playing, and elephants and buffaloes coming to the waterhole to drink, right in the hotel garden.

It’s a tented camp, with three beds inside, and the bathroom space is also decent.
The fifth one: Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club. I wouldn’t be exaggerating to say this is a hotel without any flaws. We stayed in a garden suite, and the room facilities were naturally top-notch. The hotel offers a variety of activities: visiting the animal orphanage, horseback riding safari, and cycling within the hotel grounds.

Even if you don’t participate in these, just sitting on the lawn in the garden is refreshing. The service is superb, and it really feels like you can never stay long enough.
Among the five hotels, KK (Keekorok) was the worst, while each of the others was better than the last. This time, the hotel bookings were very successful, saving the best hotel for the last, giving a sense of upgrading every night, which was wonderful.
