Witnessing the great animal migration in Africa is an awe-inspiring experience! To fulfill a long-held childhood dream, a few friends and I finally embarked on this enchanting and vibrant journey.
One of my initial concerns was the safety of traveling to Africa independently. The infrastructure in many African regions can be challenging, with complex transportation and accommodation arrangements. For our African adventure, we chose a 10-day premium Kenya tour from a reputable domestic platform, which cost over 30,000 RMB, but we managed to get a discount. When selecting a tour for Africa, it’s crucial to be cautious; smaller, cheaper options might lack the necessary assurance and safety measures.
The entire itinerary was meticulously planned and incredibly fulfilling, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the unique attractions and cuisine of Africa, especially the diverse wildlife that we had only seen on TV before.
Throughout the trip, we stayed at local 5-star standard hotels, including trendy wilderness tent hotels and luxurious lakeside 5-star resorts.
For wildlife viewing, we were provided with 6-seater open-top off-road vehicles, and the security measures were top-notch. I never imagined we could get so close to such a variety of wild animals.
Additionally, the driver and guide who provided commentary were exceptional 🙏, constantly reminding us to stay safe while also giving us the freedom to take photos and interact with the wildlife.
Before the trip, we had to get vaccinated for yellow fever, malaria, and other diseases, which is understandable given the destination.

3. **Respect for animals:** Maintain an appropriate distance, do not chase, startle, or feed the animals, and always follow the guide’s instructions.
4. **Stay hydrated and protected:** Bring plenty of water and use sunscreen to protect yourself from the intense African sun.
