Discover Hidden Gems: Offbeat Hanoi Rainy Day City Stroll Adventure
【Citywalk Route】
– St. John’s Cathedral in Hanoi: There are cyclo drivers at the entrance who offer rides, and it’s recommended to take one as you can get a short city tour for a very low price.
– Hanoi Kids: This is a local volunteer organization of university students who provide one-on-one English tours of Hanoi’s main attractions.

The tour guides are very enthusiastic and friendly. We chose the city tour, which included visiting Hoan Kiem Lake and an ancient house, and we paid for the tickets. Afterward, we treated our two Hanoi friends to coffee.
– Chùa Thiên Phúc: A 40-minute drive from Hanoi (P1-P3), the ancient architecture is beautiful, reminiscent of scenes from Bi Gan’s films.

It’s convenient to take a Grab back to Hanoi.

【Hanoi Cuisine】
– La badiane: Affordable Michelin French cuisine, with a very good value lunch set. It’s recommended to book in advance.
– Pho 10 Ly Quoc Su: Delicious pho, and there’s usually a queue during meal times. You can choose the doneness of the beef, and it’s recommended to order fried dough sticks and herbal tea separately.

– The haflington: The only bar in Hanoi that’s on the Asia Best 100 list, with a beautiful environment and ingeniously themed cocktails, including a hidden cocktail menu.
– Cafe Pho Co: A cafe converted from an ancient house, with a unique ambiance.
– Giang Coffee: An egg coffee recommended by locals in Hanoi, cash payment only.

The street is also great for strolling.

【Hanoi Spa】
– Orient Spa: Located next to St. John’s Cathedral. It’s recommended to book in advance.
【Hanoi Tennis】
– FLTA Tennis Hanoi: Book and pay online through their official website. We booked two private coaching sessions, and the academy has a great environment. The coach is very responsible, speaks fluent English, and will call in advance to understand your level and remind you before the class.
