Langkawi 3D2N Adventure: Explore Paradise for Only RM129
I’m sure many of you have come across stalls at schools selling a package for 129RM, and I wanted to share my honest review and a bit of a rant. In my experience, it has its ups and downs.

We went as a group of four, so we split into two rooms. The hotel they arranged for us seemed decent at first, but once we got inside, oh boy, our TV and fridge were out of order, and the air conditioning in the other room was completely broken.

Next came the car pickup. The car situation was a classic case of what can go wrong. It’s much better to rent one yourself for peace of mind. Since the car could only be picked up at the hotel, we had to take a Grab from the airport to the hotel, and then they took us to pick up the car (if you rent on your own, you usually pick it up directly at the airport).

The car in our package was a Proton Saga, and when I looked down, I saw that all four rims were Honda’s. I was like, “What the…?” but it was okay, we still drove it. As soon as I got in the car, my hair was drenched, there was no tint, and it was unbearably hot. But we managed, filled up 20RM worth of gas, and headed back to the hotel.

When we parked, a strong smell of gasoline wafted out. We planned to go eat and visit the wildlife park, then change the car. After visiting the park, I tried to start the engine, put it in D, and released the brake, but the car started rolling backward. I was terrified, afraid of crashing, so I kept my foot on the brake and didn’t dare let go.

I turned off the engine and tried to start it again, but it wouldn’t budge. We were stuck and had to contact the rental company. However, two kind men from the wildlife park saw that our car wouldn’t start and helped us, which we were incredibly grateful for. They managed to get it working, and we went to change the car.

The second car was also a Saga with Honda tires. Although it was better than the first one, the fuel gauge display was broken, so we were always on edge. At night, we discovered the car had no lights, so we had to drive with the high beams on all the way from Cenang to Kuah.

On the second day, the package included island hopping, which was actually quite good because it was a lot of fun. However, at each island, they would ask you to spend money, hahaha, otherwise, it felt like you were on a deserted island. In the evening, we went to the night market in Kuah, which was super crowded! The food was decent, but the atmosphere was electric.
Fast forward to the third day, my friend woke up to find cockroaches in their room. We were completely stunned because I am extremely afraid of them. And since I don’t have enough words left, I’ll stop here…
