Discover Perhentian Island Paradise: Best Hidden Gem for Your Next Island Getaway 🏝️

In July, my best friend and I embarked on an unforgettable island getaway, and the experience was nothing short of a perfect 100 points 💯😭. It’s an ideal escape to unwind and relieve the stresses of everyday life. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly alternative to international travel, Perhentian Island is a must-visit destination! 🏝️

For just RM100, you can enjoy a snorkeling adventure at five stunning spots, immersing yourself in the crystal-clear waters of the sea‼️🩵. The prime time to explore Perhentian Island is from April to October, and right now is the sweet spot 🩵.

**Transportation 🚗**
We opted for a flight ✈️, but the timing wasn’t the most convenient. It’s highly recommended to book tickets that get you to the jetty before 11 am, but we landed at 11 am, making it a bit of a rush. The travel agency arranged for us to start our snorkeling adventure 🤿 around 2 pm. We took a Grab to the jetty (Kuala Besut), which was about an hour’s drive, followed by a scenic 30-minute boat ride to our resort 🏖️.

**Accommodation 🏠**
We booked a package through a travel agency. Initially, it was a 3D2N package, but we added an extra day for relaxation and free activities, extending it to a 4D3N stay, including 3 days of meals and 2 days of snorkeling 🤿. Our stay at Shari-la Resort on Pulau Kecil was picturesque, with Long Beach just a 15-minute walk away.

However, the room interiors were a bit dated, and we didn’t realize some room types lacked Wi-Fi when we made the booking.
‼️So, make sure to ask about internet availability when booking, as the signal on the island can be spotty‼️

**Activities 🌊**
The travel agency provided us with snorkeling gear at the jetty, though bringing your own might be more hygienic 🤣. During our underwater adventures, we spotted turtles, vibrant corals, colorful coral fish, and even had a thrilling encounter with sharks swimming alongside us 🦈. The highlight was definitely seeing the turtles; there were so many, and they seemed completely unbothered by our presence [WowR].

It was a breathtaking visual feast 😭🧡.
If you’re staying on Pulau Kecil, don’t miss the evening fireworks show at Long Beach, which runs from 8-11 pm. It’s a truly magical and spectacular experience, not to be missed ‼️.
‼️Just be cautious as the path can be steep and poorly lit‼️
