Discover Kuching Travel Tips: Essential Guide for First-Time Visitors
Sisters, this trip to East Malaysia was absolutely unforgettable! The food and attractions in Kuching were simply amazing, and I completely fell in love with this charming place. Let’s dive into the highlights of my incredible journey ✨

🏨 Accommodation
I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel in Kuching 🏨, and it was an absolute gem. The location is perfect, with a plethora of delicious dining options and shopping spots right at your doorstep. Booking through azgo not only made it convenient but also came with a sweet cashback, making it a truly cost-effective choice.

📍 Sightseeing
1️⃣ Kuching Waterfront: An evening visit here is a must! You can take a leisurely boat ride around the park, which is incredibly relaxing. For an even more luxurious experience, opt for the premium ferry—it’s worth every penny.
2️⃣ Sarawak Cultural Village: This place is a photographer’s dream, and it’s also a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique culture of Sarawak.

While there is an entrance fee, the enriching experience is well worth it.
3️⃣ Borneo Museum: My favorite spot for snapping photos is the pillar on the third floor—make sure you find it! Students get a discount here, so don’t forget to bring your ID.
4️⃣ Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building: This is a picture-perfect spot!

The architecture is stunning, and for the best shots, head over to George Cafe, where you can capture the most Instagram-worthy angles.
5️⃣ Internet-famous Cat Sculptures: Kuching’s cat sculptures are just adorable! Start from the five cat statues and within 15 minutes, you’ll reach a giant white cat, perfect for some cute and quirky photos.

🍽 Food
(The following are the culinary delights I tried and highly recommend)
Kuching’s food scene is a true delight, with a strong Chinese influence that brings a variety of mouthwatering dishes.
1⃣ Padungan Street Food: If you’re a fan of rice rolls or braised dishes, this is a must-visit! We went twice, and each time, it was a gastronomic delight.
2⃣ Chun Yuan Tea House: The laksa here is to die for, and my friends and I couldn’t get enough. We ended up going back for seconds!
3⃣ Bla bla bla: We stumbled upon this hidden gem, which offers a delightful mix of local specialties and innovative dishes. The flavors are exceptional, and it’s definitely worth a try.
Kuching is truly a treasure trove of surprises, offering not only breathtaking sights but also a culinary adventure that will leave you craving for more.
