1. If you’re planning to visit Bromo after arriving in Surabaya at night, opt for the 13:38-17:35 train. The sunset view from the train is absolutely stunning.
2. I chose a seat on the left side of the train’s direction of travel, which provided a breathtaking view of the landscape.
3. The panoramic train has one carriage per trip; go for the ARGO WILIS PANORAMIC 6pc, which costs around 333 RMB per person.

It’s a bit more expensive but well worth it for the experience.
4. The train offers attendants, much like an airplane, who provide main courses, snacks, and drinks. I was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying the meal was [blushing].
5. In Yogyakarta, I stayed at the Novotel Yogyakarta, which is just a 10-minute walk from the train station.

You can easily collect your ticket by entering the code into the machine, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free entry.
6. The train platforms are quite complex and very different from those in China. It’s highly recommended to ask the staff for guidance in advance to avoid any confusion.
