🚗 After a brief walk from our hotel, we opted for a becak ride to the train station area to rent a car. Since we would be departing Yogyakarta by train later, it made sense to head straight to the train station for the rental. This way, when we return the car with our luggage, we can easily walk to the train station.

🏍️ The rental shop is nestled in a small alley just across from the train station. We secured a three-day rental for 250k, with no deposit required. Before setting off, it’s crucial to check the brakes and fuel tank; you must return the bike with the same amount of fuel. Navigating the bustling streets of Yogyakarta on a motorcycle can be quite an adventure, especially if you’re not used to heavy traffic. If you lack experience, it’s best to avoid riding a motorcycle!

🪨 The journey to Prambanan took about two hours. Although the entrance fee was a bit steep, we spent some time admiring the site from the outside before heading back. On our return, we stumbled upon a smaller, yet equally stunning version of Prambanan, which was breathtaking from every angle [Golden Potato R]!

💆 In the evening, we treated ourselves to a relaxing massage in the city. We opted for an 80-minute full-body massage, which was incredibly soothing and cost only 125k! You need to change into a dress provided by the shop, and the privacy is excellent. After the massage, we enjoyed a warm cup of ginger tea.

👗 Malioboro Street is a shopper’s paradise, brimming with local clothing stores. I found a beautiful floral halter dress, made from soft, breathable fabric, for just 57k. It’s perfect for lounging around as pajamas and is super comfortable!

🍽️ Food Highlights:
🍚 We started our day early with breakfast at the hotel, savoring coconut rice with a hint of ginger. Pairing it with hot tea was a delightful way to begin the morning!
🍗 During our motorcycle ride, we stopped at a KFC for lunch. The burger and fried chicken combo, costing 90k, was crispy and delicious!

🍝 Near the massage parlor, we indulged in Indonesian instant noodles. We tried both soup and dry versions, and they were fantastic [Smack R]. Including drinks, the meal only set us back 35k!
🍖 On Malioboro Street, we picked up some satay skewers from a roadside stall. They were sweet and tasty, though a bit cloying if you eat too much.

A serving costs 15k.
🍦 A popular gelato shop on Malioboro Street offered a wide range of flavors. Two scoops for 35k, and I highly recommend the tiramisu!
🍚 Finally, we dined at a unique restaurant inside a market on Malioboro Street, where everyone sits on the floor to enjoy their meals with live music.

We ordered a chicken leg, duck neck, and drinks, all for 74k!

Yogyakarta truly is a delightful and cozy city!
The prices here are incredibly reasonable [Smack R]. I was initially skeptical when people claimed that Jakarta was the priciest city in Indonesia, but after experiencing Yogyakarta, I’m convinced! The cost of food, drinks, and entertainment is surprisingly affordable, far exceeding my expectations [Face Pull H].
Tomorrow, we have an exciting plan to ride to Borobudur, and I can hardly contain my excitement!
