Discover Yogyakarta’s Hidden Gem: Timang Beach Adventure Awaits

This is a beach without any sand, only roaring waves 🌊
【Timang Beach, Tianwang Island】
This is a crazy beach.
Timang Beach is located in the outskirts of Yogyakarta, about an hour’s drive from Jomblang Cave. Since the road to Tianwang Island is rocky, bumpy, and narrow, a regular car 🚗 cannot get through.

The 🚗 is parked at a meeting point, and then you take a jeep for 4km to reach Tianwang Island.
So, our group once again set off in a jeep (this time I was smart, wearing sun-protective clothing and sunglasses 🕶️, as the sun in Indonesia 🇲🇮 is not ordinary fierce 🥹).
Bouncing along in the jeep, everyone acted like kampung boys and girls, greeting passersby with “Hi pak cik/Hi mak cik” 🤣.

Of course, Indonesians are naturally warm and simple, and they all responded with smiles 😊.
As soon as the jeep engine was turned off, you could hear the “boom” “boom” “boom” of the roaring waves, which was really exaggerated when heard on site.
Although it’s called a Beach, there is no beach here, only cliffs and coral reefs.

There are two ways to get to the opposite Tianwang Island: a suspension bridge and a GONDOLA human-powered cable car, both of which require additional payment.
I chose the suspension bridge because it looked very exciting, allowing me to walk slowly and prolong the thrill 🤣.
It turned out to be the right choice, as some companions who chose the Gondola felt that the cable car reached the other side too quickly, leaving no time to savor the excitement 🤣.

The suspension bridge can hold up to five people at a time, and occasionally, while walking, we were hit by surging waves (we were the lucky ones), swaying back and forth, looking down at the increasingly agitated waves of the Indian Ocean 🌊, was it thrilling? 😅
The azure sea water 🌊 (Indian Ocean), blue sky, white clouds, and sunshine ☀️, even if you get tanned like an Indonesian girl 🇲🇮, it’s worth it.

The return trip was another 4km jeep ride to the parking 🚗 meeting point, once again transforming into kampung boys and girls 😝.
Watching free-range chickens, corn plants, banana trees, rice fields, and feeling the hot wind.
