Comprehensive Guide to Visa Renewal in Indonesia: Steps, Tips & Chinese Application Form
This is your go-to guide for navigating the Denpasar Immigration Office. Whether you’re heading to a different immigration office, the application process remains consistent and can be used as a reference.

**Class I TPI Denpasar Immigration Office**

**Materials Needed for Renewal:**
1. Appointment slip
2. Copy of the first page of your passport
3. Copy of the Indonesian entry sticker page
4. Return flight ticket
5. 500,000 IDR in cash
6. Original passport

*Pro Tip:* There are photocopy shops within the immigration office, so no need to stress about finding a place to make copies.

**Renewal Process:**

In principle, e-visas can be renewed directly online, while visas on arrival must be renewed in person at the immigration office. However, when my e-visa was just five days away from expiring and the “extend” option mysteriously vanished from the official website during working hours, I had no choice but to renew it offline.

**Number of Visits to the Immigration Office:**

The renewal process requires three visits to the immigration office:
1. First visit: Submit documents (2-3 hours)
2. Second visit: Photo and fingerprinting (30 minutes)
3. Third visit: Collect your passport (5 minutes)

**Detailed Renewal Steps:**
1. **Make an Appointment:** Schedule your appointment on the official website. Aim to arrive 30 minutes early. Fill out the appointment form (refer to Figures 2-4).
2. **Arrival and Queuing:** Upon reaching the immigration office, queue up to show your appointment code and collect the renewal form. Fill it out, then queue again.
Once the staff confirms everything is in order, they will provide you with a number (Figures 5-8).
3. **Wait for Your Turn:** Enter the hall, turn right, and wait in the foreigner service area until your number is called (Figures 9 and 10).
4. **Review and Payment:** After your materials have been reviewed, you’ll receive a receipt.
Take this receipt, exit to the right, and pay at the designated window. Keep the receipt safe; it’s essential for all three visits and indicates the time for your next visit (Figures 11 and 12).
5. **Translation Assistance:** For those who need it, a Chinese translation of the renewal application form is available (Figures 13 and 14).
