I had grand plans to whisk my friends away on a glamorous adventure to Indonesia, dreaming of capturing stunning photos, but the trip ended in tears 😭. I’m here to share the pitfalls I encountered to save you from the same fate!
– The tour itself was absolutely fantastic!! For over 2k 💰, my brothers and I had an incredible time, and our guide was simply outstanding.
– 1️⃣ When you reach the mountain top, be prepared to rent some warm clothes; it gets incredibly chilly up there. We managed to haggle down to 10,000 IDR (about 5 RMB) per piece.
I wouldn’t recommend bringing your own, as you might feel bad if they get dirty.
– 2️⃣ Don’t forget to bring windproof sunglasses!!! Trust me, you don’t want to end up like me, unable to open my eyes at the summit, feeling both amused and frustrated 🥲
– 3️⃣ If you must wear contact lenses, go for daily disposables so you can toss them out once you’re back in the car.
– 4️⃣ Save yourself the trouble and skip the makeup; everyone ends up looking like they just came back from mining.
– 5️⃣ Invest in a wool cap; they sell for 20,000 IDR (about 10 RMB) at the summit, and it’s a lifesaver.
– 6️⃣ Pack a pack of wet wipes for quick clean-ups; using tissues to wipe your nose can be a real pain!

– 7️⃣ No need to lug around food; the summit offers instant noodles and coffee when you need a quick bite.
– 8️⃣ There are motorcycles available for 50,000 IDR (about 25 RMB) one way, but I found it unnecessary as the walk isn’t too long. You can also opt for a horse ride from the summit to the crater.
– 9️⃣ It’s wise to buy a pair of 解放鞋 beforehand; they have excellent grip and you won’t feel bad about discarding them after descending. If you’re not keen on that, you can also pick up a pair at the foot of the mountain.
Remember to shield yourself from the wind and stay warm, especially your head. Be cautious when taking photos; some areas are very slippery and dangerous. Don’t risk everything just for a perfect shot.
