Discover the Relaxing Benefits of Chilling in Cairns This Summer
The prices and exchange rate in Australia are incredibly steep for me, a tourist from China. Even something as basic as drinking water comes with a hefty price tag, forcing me to scour the supermarket for the most affordable large bottle of water and lug it around wherever I go.

Thankfully, there are some silver linings. The tap water on the streets is free and available in abundance. Additionally, you can find a range of complimentary facilities such as self-service grills, swimming pools, shower rooms, and various shared amenities. After crunching the numbers with my friend, we realized that earning 4000 AUD a month in Australia is roughly equivalent to earning 4000 RMB in China, which can still provide a decent standard of living.

An average meal here costs about 20 AUD, making it somewhat manageable. However, securing a job in Australia is no small feat [face-pulling emoji].

Upon arriving in Cairns, I was struck by how much smaller it was than I had imagined; it’s essentially a quaint port resort town. While the Great Barrier Reef and the surrounding rainforest offer plenty of activities, there isn’t much else to do. Watching people swim in the pool and sunbathe on the lawn every day, I gradually began to soak in the laid-back atmosphere.

After staying for four or five days, I found myself growing more and more comfortable, almost reluctant to leave. Of course, I spent a fair amount of money, but the experience was absolutely worth it!
