Tasmania Travelogue (Part 2) | Discover Must-Visit Hidden Gems in Tasmania!
Compared to the natural wonders of Cradle Mountain and Maria Island last time, this trip was more about city exploration and some special little experiences 💛
📍 Launceston: A quiet and quaint little town
Although Launceston is not big, the whole city feels very comfortable. The historic alleys and buildings make it feel like time has slowed down.
We wandered around the city, found a coffee shop, sipped on hand-drip coffee, and watched the passersby, which was very soothing ☕️✨
📍 Hobart: Every day in Battery Point feels like a movie 🎥
Hobart really made me feel the other side of Tasmania! Especially when staying in Battery Point, it felt like being in a movie scene.
There are all these exquisite vintage houses, and in the morning, you can see joggers running on the cobblestone streets or flowers in the neighbors’ gardens when you open the window 🌸. In the evening, take a walk to a nearby bar for a drink, and you’ll feel completely relaxed. I highly recommend staying in this area; the experience is fantastic!
📍 Bruny Island: Nice scenery, but a bit disappointing 🤷♀️
Bruny Island is a small island near Hobart. We thought we could travel freely, but it turned out that we had to join a tour group to get there. This arrangement limits freedom a bit, although the scenery is indeed beautiful, such as the coastline and the hidden beach, which are great for photos 📸.
But overall, it felt a bit overhyped. Especially with too many people, the experience gets a bit diminished… If you don’t particularly like these check-in style attractions, you can put it at the end of your itinerary.
📍 Salamanca Market: Quite a few quirky little things 🤔
Salamanca Market is only held on Saturdays.
It’s quite lively, with many stalls selling handicrafts, wooden toys, or unique seasonings. Although it’s interesting to browse, honestly, it’s just okay. It’s not something that will amaze you, but it’s worth spending some time if you’re passing by. You can also find a café nearby, sit down, and have a glass of Tasmanian specialty cider 🍎🍷
Tips:
• Battery Point Tips: Suggest staying in a local boutique hotel to fully experience the charm of Hobart.
• Bruny Island Tips: If you decide to go to the island, choose a well-reviewed tour group to avoid disappointments.
• Salamanca Market Tips: Don’t have high expectations, just browse casually, and finding something you like is a bonus.
