Please, everyone, refrain from criticism. Each destination has its unique charm and beauty, and there’s no right or wrong when it comes to personal preferences. In 2018, I embarked on a thrilling self-driving adventure in New Zealand for half a month, and this year, I explored Switzerland over 11 days.

I was struck by the remarkable similarities between these two countries, with their landscapes almost indistinguishable. Both boast stunning blue glacier lakes, lush green pastures, similar climates, and comparable local customs. The roads in both countries are exceptionally well-maintained, making them perfect for self-driving enthusiasts.

One noticeable difference is that cattle and sheep are more prevalent in New Zealand, adding to its serene and pastoral ambiance. Additionally, you’ll find a wider variety of local products to purchase in New Zealand. When it comes to railways, Switzerland takes the lead with its highly developed network.

The Jungfrau region in Switzerland is a must-see, offering breathtaking views and experiences. In New Zealand, the charming town of Fox Glacier is equally impressive, though unfortunately, my helicopter glacier hike was canceled due to poor weather conditions. Other highlights in New Zealand include the iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations and the mesmerizing glowworm caves.

For those with a keen interest in history or looking to educate middle school students, Switzerland offers a wealth of historical sites and museums. Personally, I have a deep affection for both countries 💕! Another significant difference is the cost. New Zealand is relatively affordable, whereas in Switzerland, everything except fruits and vegetables can be quite expensive.

If you’re budget-conscious, consider bringing a small, efficient hot pot, buying groceries at local supermarkets, and enjoying a cozy homemade meal at your accommodation 🍲[doge][doge]
