I stumbled upon a hidden gem near Auckland called Tairua, a charming and less crowded town that’s incredibly picturesque—perfect for capturing stunning photos!

If you’re planning a trip to Coromandel, make sure to include Tairua in your itinerary. It’s just a 20-minute drive from Hot Water Beach or Hahei, making it an easy and rewarding addition to your adventure.

📍 The first photo was taken at Paku Scenic. Sitting on the bench by the small dock, with the wind whispering through the air, the sea stretching out before me, and the sun warming my skin, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility that made me dream of my future retirement [sly smile].

📍 The second photo captures the entrance to the Mount Paku Lookout Walkway. The climb up the stairs (as shown in the third photo) takes about half an hour, but the effort is well worth it. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the winding Tairua River as it flows into the sea [thumbs up].

📍 The fourth photo showcases Tairua Beach, where you can enjoy a long stretch of coastline and soft, fine sand. It’s an ideal spot for swimming, surfing, and soaking up the sun [sun].

Alternatively, there’s a food truck diagonally across from the gas station that serves fresh poke bowls in the afternoon, featuring the catch of the day. Both options are a treat for your taste buds 😋
