Comprehensive 2023 Salmon Review: Best Choices and Buying Guide
Peach 🍑 Emperor Salmon from Cook Mountain, featuring a delectable midsection with belly, 300g for $161.
Small Japanese jack mackerel, one piece at 100g for $58, accompanied by a generous 300g pack of seaweed.

**Emperor Salmon:**
The flesh is exquisitely tender, while the belly offers a satisfying crispness. In my opinion, it doesn’t quite match the sublime taste of Sanford, but it certainly surpasses Oledi. A dip in sweet soy sauce elevates its natural flavors to new heights. The weight may fluctuate slightly due to normal oil and water loss, but rest assured, it’s precisely measured. The meat-to-belly ratio is perfectly balanced, with an equal half and half distribution.

**Japanese Jack Mackerel:**
This fish boasts a robust, distinctive flavor (if you’ve ever savored barracuda, you’ll recognize that unique, bold taste). It has a wonderfully chewy texture. I find it absolutely delicious on its own, and even more so when paired with a sauce—it’s incredibly fresh and sweet. Once you try it, you’ll be craving more! [Wow][Yum][Thumbs up]

**Seaweed:**
The seaweed is so irresistibly tasty, I devoured an entire bowl. It’s almost a shame how quickly I polished it off, like a wild boar that can’t appreciate fine feed.

**Personal Ranking:**
My personal preference for Emperor Salmon is: Sanford – Cook Mountain – Oledi. This ranking is purely subjective and may not reflect everyone’s tastes [Shy].

**Note:**
My taste and texture evaluations are based on enjoying the fish without any dipping sauce. While a dipping sauce can enhance the freshness and flavor, it should not be used as the sole criterion for judging the product.
