Explore Buenos Aires in a Day: Must-See Sights in Argentina’s Vibrant Capital
Arrived in Argentina at 12 noon, and started city exploration after storing luggage.
Pic 1/2 – Daniel Bakery: The taste is okay, the croissant is very crispy and not too sweet. The red one (probably raspberry) is a bit sour, which helps to cut through the richness.
Pic 3/4 – LA CABREBA: Expensive and not tasty.

(Originally wanted to go to DON JULIO but couldn’t make a reservation, so didn’t try it.) Not sure if we were scammed as the menu didn’t have prices! Ended up paying almost 300,000 Argentine pesos‼️‼️
– Ordered a salad🥗/half portion of short ribs/bife chorizo with blue cheese. None of them were good!

Only the tomatoes in the salad tasted decent. The rest was really bad [smack]. Since it was our first meal in Argentina, we thought the prices here were just high and didn’t take a picture of the bill 😡. Paid the remaining amount by card.
Pic 5 – RAPANUI “century-old ice cream shop”: The taste is okay, but the fruit flavors seem better.

I ordered (pistachio), (chocolate), (raspberry). Tasted (passion fruit and kiwi) in the store – quite nice, sweet and sour, refreshing. Other flavors can get cloying if you eat too much.
*All of the above are in the Palermo area*
Pic 6 – Went to Chinatown for a stroll, bought a cup of fruit tea, my goodness, it was super sweet.

Most supermarkets there are run by Chinese, but the food stalls are mostly manned by foreigners. Didn’t see many Chinese, so the flavors might be adapted. (Expensive)
Pic 7/8/9/10 – Watched tango in the evening, not a wasted trip. Booked tickets last minute through a travel agency for Mansion Tango, cost 600 RMB, including dinner (appetizer, main course, dessert), drinks and alcohol included with unlimited refills.

If not full, you can order more but it’s extra. Started at 8 PM, dancing from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM, I think.
Lastly, the app I used for currency exchange. Should be usable in South America. Remember to write your name correctly, or it will be troublesome when withdrawing money. And the tellers’ attitudes can be a hassle [disdain][disdain].

In the capital, just open Google Maps and search🔍.
– For taxis: Use Uber (for buses, you can buy a card at convenience stores or newspaper stands, but remember to top up, it’s calculated per 3 km, not very clear. The subway is convenient, but didn’t look into it much, seems to use a different card).

Feels like a relatively safe country, of course, not comparable to back home. (Actually, no right to say since only stayed for a day.)
But overall, the expenses are huge‼️‼️ Not very cost-effective‼️
Stay tuned for my next post on where else I went in Argentina [cute].
ps: The Argentine government charges a 6 USD tax for staying in hostels, which can be waived if discussed with the hotel beforehand [shy].
