Today is the second day in Córdoba. Yesterday, when the train arrived in Córdoba, it was already 5 o’clock. After getting off the train, I took a bus to my accommodation. Along the way, I felt it was quite similar to Madrid, without any particularly stunning sensory experience. After settling in and putting away my luggage, it was almost dark when I went out.

I walked all the way to the Roman Bridge. After crossing the bridge, I saw the night view of the old town and the ancient bridge, which was quite beautiful, reminding me of Prague. Prague also has a city, a bridge, and a river, but it is more beautiful and stunning than Córdoba. After enjoying the night view at the head of the bridge, I took a bus to Mercado Victoria, a market with various snacks, similar to San Miguel in Madrid, but smaller with fewer stalls.

However, this market in Córdoba actually has a disco, where many locals were having a good time. The snacks were okay.

This morning, I went to the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Castle of the Christian Monarchs. I bought a ticket on the spot for 4.9 euros. You can buy tickets at the ticket office or from a machine across the street from the entrance. This machine can be used to buy tickets for the main attractions, and you can pay by card, which is quite convenient.

The main things to see here are the castle and the gardens. There are not many flowers at this time of year, and the weather today was not good, so the photos did not turn out well. However, you must climb the tower to the top, where you can overlook the entire castle garden and the city, with a good view.

It would be even better on a clear day.

Then I went to the Palacio de Viana. If you only visit the courtyards, the ticket costs 8 euros. If you add a visit to the salas (with Spanish commentary), it costs 12 euros in total. If you understand Spanish, I recommend visiting the salas; listening to the stories and seeing the collections is quite interesting.

What really impressed me today were the courtyards of this place. The flowers and plants were especially beautiful, with every corner looking like a painting. In the spring and summer, there are even more and prettier flowers. Even though there are not many flowers at this time of year, it is still very beautiful.

The highlight was that there was live piano music, playing classical pieces, blending perfectly with the beauty of the Palacio de Viana, creating a feast for both the eyes and ears, making one stop to appreciate it.

On the way back, I stopped by the Roman Temple, which is currently under maintenance, and only a few columns could be seen. It was not particularly impressive, but it is also a mark left by Roman culture in Spain.

Well, I’ll stop writing here for now. I’m going out to continue experiencing this city.
