The Great Mosque of Cordoba is truly a marvel! It seamlessly blends Islamic and Christian architectural styles, creating a unique and captivating experience. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a harmonious fusion!

Moreover, the mosque has undergone several expansions over the centuries, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of its design. You can clearly see the transition between the old and new parts, each expansion adding a layer of history and beauty.

The mosque also features some early Arabic script, which at first glance, I mistook for oracle bone script. After a quick check with GPT, I learned that they are entirely different. These inscriptions are actually names of craftsmen, phrases like “Allah,” and personal marks left by the artisans who built this magnificent structure.

Despite its historical significance, the overall size of the mosque is quite manageable. An hour of free admission is more than sufficient to explore and appreciate its grandeur. Plus, with the hostel just a hundred meters away, you can enjoy a leisurely morning and still have plenty of time to visit.
