Discover Ushuaia: Get Your Certificate Stamped at the World’s End
Certificate of the End of the World, commemorative stamps, penguin postmarks, and passport commemorative pages… these unique collectibles in Ushuaia will surely ignite your passion for collecting. Given that the elderly staff member (affectionately known as the “old man”) doesn’t work every day, it’s a rare and special opportunity to meet him.

The postage for an Argentine postcard is 11000 pesos (currently equivalent to 10 USD!), so following these steps will ensure you collect everything smoothly and without any regrets at the end of the world.

🔁 Suggested order:
Exchange money (some of the following steps are cheaper with cash) ➡️ Buy postcards ➡️ Go to the visitor center to get the certificate & stamp ➡️ Go to the End of the World post office ➡️ Get the penguin postmark & passport commemorative page

💵【Exchange Money】
Visit Jupiter Casa De Cambio, an official exchange point.
⏰ Operating hours: 10:00-18:00
The exchange rates displayed include US dollars, euros, Brazilian reais, and Chilean pesos. It’s unclear if other currencies can be exchanged. The exchange rate for US dollars varies, with the best rate for $100 bills.

🏞️【Buy Postcards】
It’s recommended to buy XL size postcards (about 18 cm in length) because they provide enough space for all six End of the World commemorative stamps. L size (about 15 cm in length) might work if you squeeze them in, but XL is more practical.
I was surprised by the price variations for postcards, which can be more than double.

I bought too quickly and ended up paying more [Facepalm R]. The recommended places and prices are shown in the picture, for reference.
However, each store offers different designs. If you’re particular about the design, sometimes you have to pay a bit more.

📄【End of the World Certificate & Commemorative Stamps】

📮【Penguin Postmark & Passport Commemorative Page】
These two items are available at the End of the World post office inside Tierra del Fuego National Park.
⏰ Operating hours: 9:30-16:00
Recently, the old man’s health has been a concern, and he often doesn’t open the post office, so it’s a matter of luck.

If the post office is closed, the town’s post office, Correo Argentino, can also provide the penguin postmark.
⏰ Operating hours: 9:00-16:00, Saturday until 13:00, closed on Sunday.
💰 Postage: 11000 pesos‼️
I was truly shocked by the prices in Argentina. The postage is astonishing, ten times that of neighboring Chile!
The passport commemorative page is only available at the End of the World post office. Fortunately, I had my old passport with me, thanks to the US visa, and it had a few blank pages. It’s not recommended to use your current passport unless you plan to replace it [Facepalm R].
