❄️Ushuaia Incomplete Guide: Discover Hidden Gems and Unique Experiences in 2023
Near the pier, a variety of tour options await, each offering unique experiences that change with the seasons. Let’s dive into the details!

**Tour 1: Penguin Encounter**
Meet at the travel agency and set off on an exciting bus journey.
🐧 **See Penguins**
In winter, only one travel agency offers this enchanting tour. Enjoy a 20% discount for cash payments and a 10% discount for credit card transactions. I booked through WhatsApp (see picture). After booking, you’ll receive your reservation information, payment receipt, and be notified of the meeting time and location via email or WhatsApp. A boarding pass will also be provided.

Your guide, fluent in both Spanish and English, will lead you on a 1.5-hour scenic bus ride (about 75km) from the pier to a dock outside the city. The route is a visual treat, with snow-covered landscapes and a brief introduction by the guide. There’s a stop at a restaurant where you can use the restroom before continuing.

Once aboard the boat, you have the option to sit outside (brace for the cold!) and enjoy stunning views of part of the Patagonia region in Chile. If luck is on your side, like it was for me, you might even catch a glimpse of a rainbow! The 30-minute boat ride brings you close to the penguins, though you won’t be able to disembark. You can still take adorable photos from a short distance. The penguin viewing lasts about 30 minutes.

After returning to shore, head back to the nearby restaurant (where you’ll find some adorable dogs). The tour includes a hot chocolate and croissant, perfect for a 30-minute rest before the 2-hour return journey along the evening mountain road.

**Tour 2: Fjord Adventure**
Pick up your boarding pass in advance and make your way to a charming little house with a blue roof, just 50 meters away, to wait for the boat. Once on board, choose your seat and enjoy self-service drinks and snacks. The staff will provide bilingual announcements throughout the trip.

🏔 **Fjord Scenery**
The first stop is a picturesque small island, reachable in about 30 minutes by boat. Spend around 30 minutes taking beautiful photos and soaking in the serene atmosphere.

Next, the boat heads to a spot in the middle of the sea, surrounded by majestic mountains. Here, you can watch the sunset and capture breathtaking photos. Both locations offer spectacular views that are sure to leave you in awe.

🦭 **See Sea Lions + Seabirds**
A small island teems with South American sea lions. While you can’t land on the island, the boat circles around, providing a 360-degree view. The sea lions, with their soft fur, constant calls, and slightly pungent aroma, are a delight to observe. Nearby, seabirds resembling penguins but distinct in their own right, occupy another island, adding to the natural charm.
🛥 **Visit the Lighthouse at the End of the World**
The final stop of the cruise is a highlight: one of the filming locations for Wong Kar-wai’s “Happy Together.” This lighthouse, known as the southernmost in the world, offers multiple angles for photo opportunities. It’s a truly unique and memorable experience.
🐳 Whale Watching Adventure
The fifth stop on our journey is dedicated to the thrilling experience of whale watching, though it’s not always guaranteed that these majestic creatures will make an appearance. However, luck was on my side, and I was blessed with not just one, but multiple sightings! The same magnificent whale breached the surface several times, offering a breathtaking spectacle.
Incredibly, within just three months, I had the privilege of witnessing these gentle giants twice. It was an absolutely exhilarating and unforgettable experience!
