Day 3 of Antarctic Adventure: Exploring Ushuaia, the End of the World
❄️Ushuaia, Argentina! This enchanting city marks the southernmost tip of the South American continent and serves as the gateway to Antarctica.

✈️After a 3.5-hour flight from Buenos Aires, I was immediately captivated by the breathtaking scenery upon landing in Ushuaia: snow-capped mountains, azure waters, and charming little wooden houses, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale. The town, though small, exudes a romantic charm at every turn. San Martin Street, the main thoroughfare, is lined with unique shops and restaurants, each offering Instagram-worthy moments.

㊙️Must-visit attractions: Lighthouse, penguins, and Tierra del Fuego National Park

A visit to Ushuaia wouldn’t be complete without seeing the iconic “Lighthouse at the End of the World.” This lighthouse is not just a landmark; it’s a symbol of the city’s enduring spirit.

🌋Tierra del Fuego National Park is another must-see destination. Here, you’ll find stunning glaciers, serene lakes, and ancient forests. A ride on the narrow-gauge train, known as the “End of the World Train,” offers a picturesque journey, enhanced by Chinese commentary available through headphones, adding a thoughtful touch for visitors.

㊙️Within the park, there’s also a “Post Office at the End of the World.” I sent postcards to my friends here, stamped with a unique postmark, which made the experience even more memorable and special.

🦀Cuisine: King crab and grilled meat
Don’t miss the king crab at the Old Captain’s Restaurant; it’s incredibly fresh and sweet, priced at around $120 per crab. While it may be a bit pricey, the taste is absolutely worth it. In the evening, I visited a local grill where the meat was tender and juicy, perfectly complemented by Argentine red wine, making for an unforgettable culinary experience!

🌟Travel tips
Best travel time: December to February, during the Southern Hemisphere’s summer, when the weather is mild and ideal for exploration.
Transportation: The town is compact, and most attractions are within walking distance. For a more scenic tour, a sightseeing bus costs $20 and takes you on a one-hour journey with three stops for photo opportunities 📸
Language: Although Spanish is the official language, many places offer Chinese services, making it very welcoming for Chinese tourists.

The allure of Ushuaia lies not only in its natural beauty but also in the profound sense of solitude and tranquility it offers as the “end of the world.” Standing before the lighthouse and gazing towards the distant Antarctic, all your worries seem to melt away. If you’re seeking a soul-stirring adventure, Ushuaia is undoubtedly your top choice!
