[Argentina 10 Days 9 Nights] Episode 5 — Ushuaia Accommodation and Dining
.
In the previous post, I shared the attractions and fun places worth visiting in Ushuaia. In this post, I will share about the hotel we stayed at and some restaurants (not all are recommended).

🔹Accommodation (Photos 2-4)
▫️Cilene Del Faro Suites & Spa: Since it was already evening when we arrived in Ushuaia, we booked four nights, but I felt three nights would have been enough.

Google shows that this hotel is a 4-star, but it’s actually just the standard for a small town. The rooms are clean and spacious, each being a small suite with a living room/kitchen area and a balcony with a view of the snow-capped mountains, which is quite comfortable! A simple breakfast is provided every morning for free 🆓.

If you have time, you can try the spa, which is much cheaper compared to North America (mainly due to the exchange rate 💲). The hotel is conveniently located, with easy walking access to restaurants and the town center [Thumbs up].

🔹Dining
▫️El Viejo Marino (Photos 5-6): The must-try dish here is the captain’s king crab.

We chose the whole king crab set for two. On that day, there was an extra large king crab (very big size $70k), which was very fresh. The scissors were a bit difficult to use. We also ordered a king crab soup for $6k [Highly recommend]. It was super fresh and sweet, made from real, fresh king crab meat.

Recommended! Note ⚠️: Make sure to arrive before they open at noon. If you see no crabs in the glass tank at the entrance, it means they don’t have any for the day.
▫️Volver (Photos 7-9): This is a seafood restaurant where we ate twice. The food is good, and the ambiance is unique. It’s advisable to make a reservation in advance to get a table by the window with a sea view.

The seafood paella, Patagonian toothfish, and cream scallops are delicious. The steak is of excellent quality, but it’s a large portion with a somewhat monotonous flavor and no side dishes. We got full halfway through. The complimentary bread served before the meal is incredibly fragrant.
.
▫️Bamboo (Photo 10): This place offers Chinese buffet, à la carte, and takeout by weight.

It’s average, but the prices are reasonable. Even the freshly cut roasted meat is all-you-can-eat, making it very popular with tour groups (if you need to exchange money, you can ask the owner).
▫️Banana (Photo 11): On Christmas Day, no other restaurants were open, so we had a meal here. It was a very ordinary sandwich and burger.
