Ushuaia Supermarket Review: Why Lao Gan Ma Instant Noodles Shoppers Should Look Elsewhere

I had assumed that Ushuaia, a bustling tourist hub, would be brimming with an array of culinary options. However, I was in for a surprise.

The Chinese supermarket in Ushuaia, La Victoria, which I found mentioned on Xiaohongshu, only dedicates a single shelf to instant noodles. As you can see in the second picture, the selection is limited to just spicy chicken noodles, with no trace of any Chinese varieties. The store does carry a few essentials like soy sauce and oyster sauce, along with Lee Kum Kee char siu and seafood sauces, but that’s about it.

It’s highly advisable to stock up on instant noodles, Lao Gan Ma chili sauce, and pickled mustard stems before your trip. These items can be easily found in:

Chile: Santiago, Punta Arenas, Natales
Argentina: Buenos Aires

At this point, I must give a big shoutout to Santiago. The Chinese supermarkets there are a treasure trove, offering everything you could possibly need. Chile truly stands out as the best (yyds).
