Exploring Ushuaia: Enjoy Sunset Views and Barbecue at the World’s End
Ushuaia isn’t just about king crabs; it also boasts a restaurant with breathtaking views! For those planning to visit both Punta Arenas, Chile, and Ushuaia, Argentina, it’s highly recommended to savor the king crabs in Chile. The price for a similar crab meat salad is nearly three times higher in Argentina. In Chile, you can enjoy it for CLP 19,500 (around 20 USD), while in Argentina, it will set you back ARS 57,000 (over 50 USD).

Years ago, I watched a Taiwanese variety show that highlighted Ushuaia, Argentina, and featured a restaurant where you can relish grilled meat while watching a stunning sunset. Intrigued, I tracked down the 2017 episode and made a special trip to this very restaurant for the grilled meat. (Little did I know, my days in Argentina would be filled with grilled meat [facepalm emoji]).

Perhaps it wasn’t the typical dinner hour for Argentinians during sunset, as the window seats were still available. A charming elderly couple had already secured the best spot, sipping wine and looking incredibly affectionate. The online menu, which is rarely accompanied by photos, is tourist-friendly and makes it easy to choose your meal.

It’s advisable to arrive about an hour before sunset, as the changing light is simply mesmerizing, and the restaurant remains relatively peaceful. One of the few downsides is the need to take a taxi to get there, with an Uber costing around 4000 pesos for a one-way trip, which is about 3 kilometers.
