Discover Ushuaia, Argentina: Capturing the Train at the End of the World Adventure
Captured during the Thanksgiving holiday in November 2023, this journey was a breathtaking adventure. After setting sail from Ushuaia, ascending the mountain, and trekking to the stunning Esmeralda Lake (Laguna Esmeralda), the final destination in Tierra del Fuego National Park was a ride on the sightseeing train, which took us through the heart of the park, revealing the awe-inspiring landscapes at the end of the world.

Nestled at the foot of snow-capped mountains, the landscape is dotted with countless giant fallen trees, winding rivers that meander through wetlands, and expanses of gray-brown soil. In what seems like a desolate, otherworldly place, life persists with remarkable resilience.

The railway for this tourist train was constructed over a century ago, originally used for logging and mining within the park. After years of abandonment, it was transformed into a scenic route. This transformation symbolizes a shift from conquering nature to revering and giving back to it, adding a vibrant touch to the extreme beauty at the end of the world [selfie R].

📍Tierra del Fuego National Park: You can easily find the ticket booking website by searching “Terra del fuego park train” on Google. The one-way trip covers about ten kilometers and takes approximately half an hour, pulled by a historic steam locomotive. It’s an experience not to be missed.

📸For photography enthusiasts, simply drive along the railway line. The train runs continuously throughout the day, providing ample opportunities to capture the perfect shot.

That sounds like an incredible experience! The combination of hiking to Laguna Esmeralda and then taking the train through Tierra del Fuego National Park really captures the adventurous spirit of Ushuaia. I’d love to see more photos of those snowy mountain views next to the lake.
