Continuing from the previous post, the most recommended activity is island hiking, which is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the entire trip!
🔵Isla Victoria and Arrayanes Forest
This adventure takes you on a scenic journey across two enchanting islands, offering breathtaking views that are perfect for capturing memorable photos.

However, to embark on this voyage, you must purchase boat tickets in advance through a travel agency, as direct access is not possible. We opted for Turisur, which was more budget-friendly compared to other options.
✨Boat ticket prices:
The standard price per ticket is 90,000 pesos, but there’s a special offer for two people, bringing the cost down to 72,500 pesos per person.

You can easily buy the tickets on the official website, or at physical stores for added convenience.
✨Entrance fees:
In addition to the boat tickets, you’ll need to purchase entrance tickets for the two islands on the day of your departure when you meet at Puerto Pañuelo:
– First island: The entrance fee is 2,600 pesos, with no discounts available.

– Second island: The regular entrance fee is 20,000 pesos, but with a DNI, it drops to just 7,000 pesos. Students can enjoy an even better deal at 5,000 pesos. Don’t forget to bring the necessary documents (we used an electronic version of our immigration registration document).
🚗Transportation to Puerto Pañuelo:
– Taking an Uber: The fare is approximately 16,000 pesos, and the ride takes about 40-50 minutes.

Make sure to arrive at the pier by 9:30 AM, though the actual departure time is 10:30 AM.
– Transportation provided by the travel agency: Meet at the physical store, and the cost is 16,000 pesos per person.
🚢Turisur boat experience:
The boat is spacious and has two levels:
– The first level features a cozy café and restrooms, along with outdoor decks at both the front and back, ideal for snapping some stunning photos.

– The second level is a comfortable lounge where a knowledgeable guide will share fascinating stories about the route and attractions. There’s also a professional photographer on board (for an additional fee). You might even spot photos of US President Obama, who once enjoyed this same cruise.
🚶‍♂️Itinerary:
– First, head to the first island (P1-P3): The boat ride takes about 1 hour.

Upon arrival, the guide will lead a 40-minute guided hike. The path follows a well-maintained boardwalk around the island.
– Then, proceed to Isla Victoria (P7-P17): The boat ride takes about 30 minutes. After arriving, the itinerary includes a 2-hour guided tour and 2 hours of free time. The island’s picturesque scenery is a photographer’s dream, and you can explore freely during the free time.

The island also boasts a small beach and a charming café. While the beach is modest, the view from the café is simply breathtaking (P11-P12).
✨Important notes:
– Time arrangement: The entire trip lasts from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, so it’s best to dedicate the whole day to this activity.
– Return transportation: At 6:00 PM, you’ll return to the port.

We took an Uber back to the town center, and it cost 21,000 pesos.
– Food and drinks: The package does not include meals, so be sure to bring your own snacks and beverages.

Make sure to pack plenty of water, as the prices at the boat café and the island café can be quite steep (expect to pay around 5,000 pesos for a simple coffee or bottle of water).

During our three-day stay in Bariloche, the weather was consistently sunny, though not overly hot. However, it’s crucial to protect yourself from the sun and stay well-hydrated! Several members of our group ended up with sunburns. It’s also wise to bring a jacket when you visit the island, as the sea breeze can get quite chilly.

Despite the lengthy journey, the breathtaking scenery makes it all worthwhile! If you’re a fan of hiking and photography, this is an absolute must-see. Just remember to plan your time effectively, bring enough food and water, and you’ll be able to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty with just a light backpack.
