😨There’s a peculiar sense of cultural insecurity among some Chinese travelers, which often surfaces in their reactions when visiting foreign landmarks. Upon arriving at a famous site,
⛪especially in Europe, after dozing off on the bus or snapping photos, they might exclaim, “This fountain looks just like the one in our town square!

” or “We have a similar Orthodox church back in xxx too” (no specific place intended, just for fun). This is why you’ll find so many places named “Oriental Venice,” “Little London of xx,” “Thames Town,” and “Leiden City” popping up all over China✈️. Yet, when Europeans visit the water towns in southern China, they never expect them to resemble Venice.

😎It’s one thing to poke fun at themselves, but there are even places that proudly label themselves as the “Little Switzerland of South America,” insisting on this borrowed identity.
Today, I won’t delve into anything else. Instead, I’ll go with the flow and share a series of stunning photos from the so-called “Little Switzerland of South America.
