I noticed a flurry of complaints on Xiaohongshu about “Flower and Youth 6,” with many viewers feeling that Chile was neither beautiful nor enjoyable. However, I found Chile to be a fascinating destination, offering a diverse array of landscapes at a fraction of the cost compared to Europe.
One of the most breathtaking experiences was watching the sunset in Moon Valley. The sunset itself was lovely, but what truly captivated me was the way the afterglow painted the valley and the volcano in a mesmerizing palette of colors.
Another unforgettable moment was at the salt lake, where several flamingos gracefully flew overhead. Despite the high altitude, I didn’t experience any altitude sickness, which inspired me to plan a trip to Tibet upon my return.
The charming town of San Pedro is a treasure trove of small, unique shops. Its proximity to Peru means you can find a variety of Peruvian goods. I couldn’t resist picking up a bunch of alpaca products to bring back home.
To cap off my trip, I booked a stargazing tour at a local homestay. When we reached the stargazing spot, the instructor asked who needed an English explanation. In a large group, I was the only one to raise my hand; everyone else spoke Spanish, making me feel a bit isolated. My phone struggled to capture the stunning beauty of the stars, and unfortunately, the homestay never sent the photos from the stargazing tour to my email.
Whether they forgot or my QQ email had issues, I’m not sure. Nonetheless, I have the cherished memory of seeing the stars in the Southern Hemisphere and crossing the Tropic of Capricorn [smiling face].
