🏝️ How does one even begin to describe the enchanting allure of this tiny Pacific island, a world away from the familiar mainland?

🗿 Born in the quarry, the Moai statues stand with their backs to the sea, facing an island steeped in countless enigmatic tales. According to local lore, these colossal figures can walk, and when given eyes, they come to life, watching over the land and its people.

🐦 The cult of the Birdman permeates every corner of the island, weaving a narrative of social order, cycles, and rebirth that echoes through ancient stories. This rich tapestry of mythology adds a layer of mystique to the already captivating landscape.

Every day, a single flight from Santiago brings a mix of eager tourists and returning islanders to Easter Island. The island is so small that you’ll inevitably cross paths with fellow travelers on the two main streets. Girls adorn hibiscus flowers behind their ears, and the warm-hearted locals welcome everyone with fragrant flower garlands.

It feels like stepping into another world, where rainbows slice through the salty waves, and the temptation to miss the return flight to Santiago becomes almost irresistible.

Easter Island, on my next journey to Brazil, I will undoubtedly make a return visit.
