Far, but absolutely worth the journey! I wouldn’t make the trip a second time, though (laughs).
I landed on the island on June 4th, Chilean time, and my adventure began with an unexpected twist—losing my wallet that very day! A small mishap to start, perhaps, but it did add a bit of excitement.
✳️ The mornings and evenings are quite cool, so a light down jacket is perfect.

By midday and afternoon, the sun comes out in full force, making short sleeves a comfortable choice.
✳️ Don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen; they’re essential for enjoying the bright, sunny days.
✳️ Having a guide is a must, as you won’t be able to enter the scenic areas without one.
✳️ The island is incredibly safe, and walking around at night is no problem.

There are plenty of stray dogs, but the ones I encountered were all friendly and gentle.
✳️ Most restaurants include tips in the bill, so there’s no need to worry about extra gratuities.
✳️ It’s important to remember not to touch the statues or cross the boundaries marked by stacked stones.
The distance is truly vast, but coming once to fulfill a dream is more than enough.

Personally, I wouldn’t make the trip again, but this one was an unforgettable experience—truly the ultimate shock! (haha)
The tattooed arms in the photos belong to our fantastic female guide, a very cool German. Her English is clear and easy to understand, even with just a high school education from our country.

No need to worry about communication! The cost is $200 per person, and you’ll need to provide lunch for the guide.
