Continuing from the previous guide, the following are all the places I explored that don’t require tickets or guides; you just need a car. If you’re up for a bit of adventure and are in good shape, you can even cycle to these spots [doge]. Part 3 will cover the areas that do require tickets and guides [facepalm R].

1⃣️ North: Figures 2-6
About a 30-minute drive from town
📍Anakena: A charming, palm-fringed beach where you can take a refreshing swim, with Moai statues standing guard over the sea. If you have plenty of time, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, soak up the sun, and let your imagination wander.
📍Ovahe: Nestled next to Anakena, this secluded beach offers bigger waves and a more tranquil atmosphere.

You can reach it by taking a short, scenic trail from the parking lot.
📍Ahu Huri A Urenga: Along the way, you’ll find Moai statues visible from the parking area, making it a quick and easy stop without even leaving your car.

2⃣️ Southwest Coast: Figures 7-12
About a 20-minute drive from town
📍Ana Kai Tanata: A stunning spot to catch the sunset and explore rocky caves, with the sound of crashing waves adding to the dramatic scenery.
📍Mirador Rano Kau: This viewpoint offers a breathtaking panorama of the volcanic crater, especially enchanting at sunset when the colors come alive.
📍Mirador Hanga Roa: A picturesque viewpoint to admire the rugged coastline, offering a serene and expansive view of the ocean.

3⃣️ West Coast: Figures 13-18
Very close to town, easily walkable, and with ample parking if you’re driving
📍Ahu Tahai: The only place where you can watch the sunset with the Moai statues as a backdrop. There’s also a fantastic restaurant (Te Moai Sunset) where you can enjoy a meal with a view.
📍Playa Poko Poko: A semi-natural, semi-artificial pool that’s a favorite among locals for an evening dip.

The relaxed vibe and clear waters make it a must-visit.
📍Pea swimming pool: Another semi-natural, semi-artificial pool, popular with surfers. If you time it right, you can also catch a glimpse of planes taking off and landing, adding a unique touch to your visit.
📍Rosa de los Vientos: A fascinating landmark that shows directions and distances to various countries.

The closest one listed is Hong Kong, a staggering 17,968 kilometers away.
