Kyoto’s charm comes with crowds! While the Five-story Pagoda swarmed with visitors, we discovered a pleasant surprise at Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) – its golden reflection shimmering peacefully across the pond with far fewer people [lol].
At Kiyomizu-dera, the three-story pagoda stole the show for me – its elegant tiers standing proud while the main hall’s unique roof resembled a traditional straw hat. Pro tip: Kyoto’s transportation system needs serious upgrades – it felt like stepping back into Xi’an a decade ago [angry]. Should’ve allocated more time for Nara’s magnificent Yakushi-ji instead [angry][angry].
❗️ Kyoto’s breathtaking skies! Even with urban glow at night, the celestial show continued – Mars, Venus and Jupiter shone brilliantly through the light pollution, twinkling like celestial diamonds [sparkles][sparkles]. The perfect ending to our temple-hopping adventure!
