Explore Scenic Hiking Trails in Penang Surrounded by Mountains and Water
p1.5 is in Penang National Park

The experience of touring the national park was more akin to a brisk jog than a leisurely hike (my friend believed it fell somewhere in between). The three of us journeyed from a vibrant, verdant landscape all the way to the beach, feeling rejuvenated both physically and mentally with each step. The cool mountain shade and refreshing sea breeze made it easy to imagine that the temperature here was significantly lower than in the bustling city center.

As we traversed the forest, the dappled sunlight filtering through the interwoven tree branches created a serene atmosphere; walking along the coast, a gentle sea breeze caressed our faces. The natural symphony of bird songs and ocean waves blended into a soothing white noise, while the faint, invigorating scent of the sea carried on the breeze added to the sensory delight.

p2, 3, 4 are in Penang Hill

Our group opted for a more challenging route up and down the hill. Perhaps due to my recent lack of hiking, I felt like giving up within the first 30 minutes (p2 state), but I didn’t want to quit so easily. So, I found a young American college student among our companions as a benchmark, thinking that if she decided to take a ride, I would give up too.

To my surprise, this petite and slender girl (p4) completed the entire 6-hour trek. Her unwavering determination gave me a boost of mental strength, and we successfully met at the peak (p1) and finished the journey together. Although the entire hike was still quite challenging for me, and I even felt a bit exhausted, the breathtaking views at the summit, the picturesque landscapes along the way, and the enjoyable conversations with my companions made this hiking adventure truly worthwhile when I look back on it.
