Argentina Travel Guide: Best Food, Affordable Accommodation, and Local Transportation Tips
💡Transport:
1️⃣ Taxi 🚖: DiDi International / Uber, with DiDi International being a bit cheaper, and the prices are similar to those in Beijing. Using a ride-hailing app, the cost from EZE to the city center is generally between 24,000-27,000 pesos (around 180 RMB or less). Both credit card and cash payments in pesos are supported, so it’s recommended for those coming to Buenos Aires from the airport to use a ride-hailing app, as airport taxis are quite expensive 😥
Please note ⚠️ that all ride-hailing vehicles in Buenos Aires are 5-seater cars.

If you have a lot of people or luggage, you can take two cars or choose an airport taxi. Also, except for Buenos Aires and Ushuaia, ride-hailing apps do not work in other parts of Argentina, so it’s suggested to directly rent a car.
2️⃣ Public Transport 🚌: You need a SUBE card, which can be purchased at roadside convenience stores (which will be much more expensive than at subway stations) / or at the recharge windows at subway stations (larger stations like those near the Obelisk and Teatro Colón have them for sale), and recharges are made in cash pesos.

Public transport prices are also similar to those in China, with buses charging based on distance. Tell the driver where you’re going, and a trip costs no more than 4 RMB; for the subway, the price is fixed regardless of distance, and a trip costs about 5 RMB.
‼️ However, now the subway supports direct entry by swiping a credit card, but this is not yet available for buses.

For those without a card or cash, you can choose to swipe a credit card to enter the subway. (PS: The price I mentioned is after linking an Argentine residency card, tourists might pay 1-2 RMB more.)

🍚 Eating: An average of 20,000+ pesos per person (over 150 RMB), though of course, the price varies. When my friends and I go out to eat, we usually spend around this amount per person.
🍴 Recommended Restaurants:
1️⃣ Argentine Barbecue: La Estancia (near the Obelisk), Don Julio (ranked among the top 50 globally, no reservation needed if you go early), La Cabrera (also near Don Julio), etc.

Dishes to order: Steak is a must, with bife de chorizo and bife de lomo 🥩 being the top choices.
2️⃣ Peruvian Cuisine: More suitable for Chinese tastes, as Peru has many Cantonese and Japanese descendants, and the dishes reflect some Japanese and Chinese influences, such as chaufa (Cantonese fried rice) and ceviche (spicy and sour raw fish).

In Buenos Aires, KAMAY is a recommended Peruvian restaurant, very tasty and not expensive, especially with a wide selection of drinks, where any choice of limonada is safe! Another one with a better ambiance is La Mar.

🏨 Accommodation: It’s recommended to stay in the Palermo, Recoleta, and Puerto Madero areas, which are quite safe. Staying near the Obelisk, Teatro Colón, Plaza de Mayo, or Casa Rosada is also fine, as they are close to major attractions and convenient for getting around. However, prices vary.
