Bariloche Summer Babysitting Guide: Level 1 Essentials & Tips
1️⃣ Booking your plane tickets well in advance can save you a significant amount of money. However, be cautious with low-cost airlines, as they often have higher chances of cancellations and unexpected schedule changes. For summer trips, a carry-on suitcase and a backpack should suffice, but in the winter, you might need to purchase checked luggage to accommodate bulkier items.

✅ Before finalizing your flight, double-check the check-in and check-out times for your accommodation. Most apartments allow check-in after 2 PM and require check-out by 11 AM, so plan accordingly.

✅ A four-day trip is ideal; it gives you enough time to explore without feeling rushed.

2️⃣ Renting an apartment with a kitchen is generally more cost-effective than staying at a hotel. This way, you can also enjoy the flexibility of preparing your own meals.

✅ If you’re not planning to rent a car, it’s best to stay near the city center. Use a map to ensure that your accommodation is conveniently located close to the centro cívico.

3️⃣ To stretch your budget further, consider visiting a local supermarket once you arrive in Bariloche. You can buy ingredients to cook your own meals, which can be both economical and a fun way to experience local flavors. If you’re a fan of Chinese cuisine, bring along some essential condiments like oyster sauce, chicken essence, and soy sauce to add a familiar touch to your dishes.

✅ While many people rave about Familia Weiss, our experience was somewhat underwhelming. The food was average and not as good as what we cooked ourselves 😂 Perhaps we just didn’t order the right dishes, but the cost per person was around 30,000 pesos.

✅ I highly recommend trying the ice cream and chocolate at Mamushka. It’s a delightful treat that shouldn’t be missed!

Good tips! I especially agree about booking flights early to save money, but also being careful with budget airlines. It’s smart to pack light for summer, but make sure to check the apartment’s check-in time to avoid any surprises.
