Best Time to Visit Bariloche Argentina for Skiing on a Budget 🇦🇷
Last November, I ventured to Bariloche, often hailed as the “Little Switzerland of South America,” and it truly lived up to its reputation as a perfect getaway. The moment I set eyes on Nahuel Huapi Lake, I was spellbound; it’s one of those sights that you have to see to believe. Here’s your ultimate travel guide:

VI. Itinerary 🍀
Day 1:
📍 Clock Tower Hill + Stroll through the town
We arrived at 11:30 am, and our adventure began in the afternoon. A short 30-minute drive from the hotel took us to the top of Clock Tower Hill, where we hopped on a cable car (self-funded, 3900 pesos) to ascend to an altitude of about 1050 meters.

From this vantage point, we were treated to breathtaking views of Mount Tronador and the vividly blue Nahuel Huapi Lake below.
In the evening, a leisurely walk around the charming town is highly recommended. The town is compact, and an hour is ample time to explore. Don’t miss the numerous chocolate shops, perfect for picking up souvenirs.

A stroll along the lakeside path, sitting on the beach, feeling the gentle breeze, listening to the symphony of birds and insects, and the soothing sound of the water, is a serene experience. You can also visit the iconic landmarks of Bariloche.
* Lunch restaurant: RESTAURANTE FANMILIA WEISS
Review: This treehouse-style restaurant is quite famous locally, though the cuisine wasn’t entirely to my taste.

Day 2:
📍 Chocolate Museum + Victoria Island + Red Forest
➢ Chocolate Museum: This visit was a bit of a letdown. I had envisioned a full-fledged museum, but it turned out to be more of a bakery. However, the owner offers classes to tourists, introducing them to the local specialty chocolates, which are absolutely delicious.
➢ Victoria Island + Red Forest: We set off from Puerto Pañuelo at 1 pm on a luxurious yacht bound for Victoria Island (Isla Victoria). The journey itself was a treat, with plenty of photo opportunities on the deck. To add to the excitement, there was even a lottery with three prizes, and both my friend and I were lucky enough to win!
The island spans an impressive 31 km², so make sure to wear comfortable shoes to avoid sore feet. Our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating insights about the island and the enchanting Red Forest. The red trees, unique to the Andes region, boast a rich brownish-red hue. Even the younger ones are over a hundred years old, while the oldest have been standing for more than six centuries.
🍜 Lunch: At the Puerto Pañuelo dock, you’ll find several convenience stores offering quick bites like burgers and fried chicken. If you prefer, you can also bring your own food.
🍴 Dinner: For dinner, we dined at the charming Mexicano café, a Mexican restaurant adorned with vibrant murals and traditional decorations. The portions here are generous; two people can easily share three dishes and still feel satisfied. The Tacos, in particular, were a standout, bursting with flavor and authenticity.
