Day 168: Exploring Bariloche, Argentina’s Little Switzerland in South America
Merry Christmas to everyone 🎄
This week, I shared my Christmas travel vlog and plog.
To avoid visual fatigue for everyone 🎅
(I will update the guide and details in chronological order later,
so today I won’t give any spoilers and will continue with my South American travel updates.)

From Puerto Varas in Chile, I took a bus eastward,
and after about 6 hours, I arrived at Bariloche in Argentina.
It’s quite a coincidence, which is also a surprise for someone like me who travels in a P-person style
(among the 16 MBTI personality types, P-people are the least likely to make plans and itineraries).

Originally, I was supposed to stay in Bariloche for 1 hour
to transfer to Buenos Aires by bus 🚌
But on the way, I curiously looked up Bariloche and found it to be incredibly beautiful!
I thought of staying one night, but as soon as I got to the hostel and saw the view 🏔️,
I immediately booked a 3-day stay (because there were no rooms available after 3 days).

Here, I met a group of friends whom I absolutely adore 👯♀️👬
Together, we experienced this “Little Switzerland of South America 🇨🇭”.

✅ Because:
❶ The nature is very similar, Andes Mountains 👉 Alps
❷ The culture is very similar, with residents mainly being descendants of Germans, Swiss, and Austrians
❸ The architecture is very similar, following European design traditions

✅ So, these are must-experiences here:

❶ Hiking 🚶♀️!!!
A. Confiteria del cerro campanario
You can get a 360-degree view of the lake area
The previous stop was the Chilean Lake District, and this is the Argentine Lake District
Equally beautiful and worth seeing ~ A 30-minute hike up the mountain
If you’re feeling lazy or, like me, haven’t grown up 🧒
you can take the cable car up the mountain, where there’s great hot chocolate at the top 🍫
B.

Sendero cerro llao llao
Bariloche’s most famous hiking trail, about an hour to the top
Very easy, you can chat with friends all the way up
Don’t miss the nearby Villa Llao Llao
It’s a 5🌟 hotel here, simply paradise hahaha~

❷ Daydreaming and shopping in the city center 🪵
Swiss-style streets + azure snow-capped lakes
Even wasting time in the city center is enjoyable~
There’s also a whole street of delicious food + souvenir shops 👏
❸ Chocolate, steak 🥩, red wine, beer
When in Bariloche, you must not miss the local food culture
Because the residents are European descendants and it’s located in Argentina
with great water from the Andes and excellent beef
Prices are very low, combining all these advantages, it’s just perfect
The next episode is my favorite stop in South America
Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷!!!
Stay tuned hahaha (Surprised? Unexpected? hahaha
