Discover Authentic Main Dishes Loved by Real Argentinians Today
Many of my friends have been curious about what Argentinians typically eat. So, I thought I’d share a quick update to answer their questions. I can assure you that the dishes I’ve been savoring recently are the most authentic Argentine meals, and they revolve almost entirely around meat. While, in theory, Argentina should be a haven for seafood lovers, the locals rarely indulge in it, except for salmon and tuna.

The so-called Argentine red shrimp and Argentine crab you see promoted online? I’ve never come across them in person [facepalm]. You can probably guess the rest.

Photo 1: Grilled beef, specifically tenderloin, which is the second most tender cut after ribeye.
Photo 2: Grilled pork served with creamy mashed potatoes, a smooth and delicious combination.
Photo 3: A hearty sandwich loaded with cheese and Italian smoked ham, perfect for a hiking snack, though the flavor profile isn’t quite to my taste; foreigners seem to enjoy it.

Photo 4: Patagonian roasted lamb, a single serving that’s incredibly salty, with a crispy, golden skin.
On average, a meal here costs around 200 RMB, but the portions in Argentina are enormous. For someone like me who has a big appetite, one meal a day is more than enough to keep me satisfied [facepalm].
