Discover Cordoba: A Scenic Gem Exceeding Travel Expectations!
Córdoba, a journey that surpassed all my expectations! Initially, I was considering flying from Barcelona to Córdoba, but after reading numerous complaints about Fuling Airlines on xhs and the exorbitant baggage fees, I decided against it. Instead, I opted for the refen high-speed train, which not only provided a more comfortable experience but also allowed me to seamlessly continue to Granada.

I arrived in Córdoba at 1:30 PM, greeted by a stunning day with clear blue skies and fluffy white clouds. My first stop was the iconic Great Mosque. Despite being informed that the bell tower tickets were sold out when purchasing my entry, the breathtaking interior of the mosque quickly dispelled any disappointment.

Before my visit, I had modest expectations, primarily influenced by the horseshoe-shaped red and white columns I had seen on xhs. However, as soon as I stepped inside, I was captivated by its sheer beauty and truly grasped the meaning of “impressed without understanding.” The central hall, with its grand and magnificent styles, is a must-see, though it would have been even more enriching with some Chinese commentary.

Next, I strolled over to the Roman Bridge. It’s one of those places where you just have to take a photo because everyone else does. Haha!

Afterward, I explored the Viana Palace, a paradise for those who adore courtyards and flowers. It’s said to be even more enchanting during the May Courtyard Festival, making it a top recommendation for future visits.

The following morning, I visited the Christian Monarchs’ Castle, which opens at 8:15 AM on Sundays. Be sure to bring a credit card, as they do not accept cash for ticket purchases. The castle’s courtyard is a sight to behold, and climbing the tower offers a panoramic view of the mosque and the Roman Bridge.

Unfortunately, we arrived early, and the sun was still rising, so the full splendor was yet to be revealed. By noon, we departed for Granada, opting for the bus, which is not only more economical but also provides a unique travel experience. I highly recommend considering this option.

Goodbye, Córdoba, until we meet again!
