Discover the Breathtaking Flower-Filled Courtyards of Ancient Cordoba, Spain in May
Every May, the people of Cordoba, Spain, decorate their courtyards with vibrant flowers and exquisite decorations. During this time, the entire city of Cordoba becomes a sea of flowers, with the fragrance enveloping this ancient small town. Wandering into any alley, you can see well-arranged geraniums in front of doors and on walls, which is definitely worth a visit. During the Courtyard Festival, people can enter private courtyards to visit and chat with the owners while enjoying the flowers.

🚄Transport: Although Cordoba Airport is only 6 kilometers from the city center, there are very few flights. In comparison, trains are more convenient. There are daily trains to and from Seville, Madrid, Malaga, and Barcelona, with a travel time of about 5 hours.

🔸Flower Street
The famous “Calle de Los Flores” or Flower Street, where flowers are always in bloom. Walking through the narrow alleys, you can see walls covered with flowers. At the end, there is a slightly wider small square, and the bell tower of the Mosque-Cathedral stands prominently among the fragrant flowers.

🔸Roman Bridge of Cordoba
The Roman Bridge was originally built in the 1st century and has 16 arches. The Roman Bridge at sunset is one of the most beautiful sights in Cordoba. Standing at the southern end of the bridge, the mosque and the ancient bridge shine together. This 2000-year-old bridge is also one of the filming locations for Game of Thrones.

🔸Cordoba Mosque
On the north bank of the Roman Bridge is the famous Cordoba Mosque, which has a mixed style of Moorish and Spanish architecture. The Great Mosque was built in the 8th century, and within its grounds, there are fountains, porches, and towers, among other attractions. The Villaviciosa Chapel is the most distinctive.

🔸Alcazar Fortress
The castle was originally a royal residence, and the garden scenery is very beautiful. Here, you can see statues of all the monarchs associated with the palace fortress. It was declared a historical monument as early as 1931.
