Explore Bariloche: Part 2 of “Little Switzerland of South America” Patagonia Travel Guide
Bariloche, Argentina, a city where you never get tired of staying.

Day 2 Afternoon: Cruise 🛳️ to the center of Nahuel Huapi Lake
After checking out from the Llao Llao Hotel, walk for 5 minutes to reach Puerto Pañuelo, from where you can take a cruise to Arrayanes Forest and Victoria Island. The island has a myrtle forest with trees over 600 years old 🌲; walking through it feels like being in a fairy tale.

Day 3: Self-driving 🚘 Circuito Chico
When self-driving the Circuito Chico, you must not miss Cerro Campanario. After taking the cable car 🚠 to the top of the mountain, the stunning view that appears before your eyes is the postcard-perfect scenery of Bariloche. After descending the mountain, hike for 2 hours on the trails near Llao Llao Peak, where you can enjoy Moreno Lake from different angles at the center of the small circuit.

On the south side of the small circuit, there is the iconic Patagonia Brewery, where you can enjoy original factory beer 🍻 while watching the sunset over the lake area 🌇.

Day 4: Self-driving 🚗 the Route of the Seven Lakes
The Route of the Seven Lakes is a section of the scenic Route 40 famous for its beauty in Patagonia, with a long route ending in San Martín de los Andes, Neuquén. There are too many beautiful sights along the way that make you want to stop, and I only managed to drive as far as the Mirador del Lago Espejo.

Bariloche is my number one choice for a vacation spot in Argentina, and 4 days are simply not enough to fully appreciate it. I wish for a suitable holiday this winter to explore the snow-capped mountains and enjoy skiing ⛷️.

The cruise to Arrayanes Forest sounds incredible! I didn’t realize Nahuel Huapi Lake had so much to offer, especially with those ancient myrtle trees on Victoria Island. It must feel like stepping into another world.
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, the Arrayanes Forest cruise is truly magical, and Nahuel Huapi Lake has so many hidden gems to discover. Those ancient myrtle trees on Victoria Island are a must-see – it really feels like walking into a fairytale. I hope you get the chance to experience it someday!
