Explore Iguazu Falls Argentina: Ultimate Guide to Transport, Currency, and Best Routes
🚌How to get there: Hop on a minibus from the Puerto Iguazú bus terminal, which will take you directly to the waterfalls. Buses depart every half hour, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. We recommend Rio Uruguay, which, as of February 2025, costs 6,000 pesos per person one way. The last bus back from the waterfalls leaves at 6:30 PM. Please note that the bus company only accepts cash.

⭐️What to do if you don’t have cash?
➡️Currency exchange: Just a short 30-meter walk to the left after exiting the bus station, you’ll find a kiosco (small shop) with a blackboard outside (see picture 8). This place offers some of the best exchange rates in all of Argentina, and the rate is the same for both small denominations and 100s! Highly recommended!! (If Iguazú is your first stop in Argentina 🇦🇷, it’s a great idea to exchange more money here.)

🎫Tickets: In February 2025, the entrance fee is 40,000 pesos per person, but with a student ID, it drops to just 7,000 pesos per person, making it incredibly cost-effective. Students should obtain an international student ID in advance to take advantage of this discount.

🚄Tour route (as shown in picture 7): Once you enter the park, keep heading right until you reach Train Station 1. From there, you can either hop on the train or enjoy a leisurely 650-meter walk to Train Station 2. At Train Station 2, change trains on the same platform to head to Train Station 3. After getting off, follow the crowd for about 1 kilometer to reach the breathtaking Devil’s Throat.

After marveling at the view, return to Train Station 3 and take the train back to Train Station 2. From there, start exploring the Blue and Yellow trails, both of which are looped and no section exceeds 2 kilometers. It’s highly recommended to walk both. The Blue Trail offers a stunning top-down view of the falls, while the Yellow Trail provides a refreshing perspective from below.

After completing the walks, return to Train Station 2 and either take the train or walk out of the park.

[Star R] Additional tips:
– Water stations are available at every trail intersection, so bring an empty bottle to refill. It gets very hot, and you’ll need plenty of water.
– For the best photo lighting, plan your visit for the morning.
– The hiking trail entrances close at 4:45 PM, so make sure to plan your time accordingly to fully enjoy the experience.

Wishing everyone a fantastic trip!
