🫱 Two Days and One Night in Buenos Aires

Preparation:
1. Passport + Visa
If you’re traveling with a Chinese passport, be prepared to visit the consulate for an interview. For those with a US visa, the process is more straightforward; simply apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE) on the Argentine National Immigration Administration website.

2. Essential Items
♦️ Essential Medicines 💊: If you’re visiting during the summer, don’t forget to pack mosquito repellent—the mosquitoes can be quite a nuisance. It’s also wise to bring medication for diarrhea, as changes in environment can sometimes lead to digestive issues. However, make sure to declare all medications, and do your research to ensure you’re not bringing any prohibited items.

♦️ Currency Exchange 💰: During my trip, US dollars were widely accepted. If you need local currency, ATMs are your best bet.
♦️ SIM Card: Purchase a data SIM card in advance to stay connected!
♦️ Taxi 🚗: Use Uber for convenient and reliable transportation.

Before embarking on my Antarctic adventure, I had a layover in Buenos Aires and decided to book a one-day tour to experience the vibrant city life.

〰️ Day 1 – Day 2 City Tour in Buenos Aires
I joined a one-day tour group to explore the highlights of the city:
1⃣️ Casa Rosada: The iconic pink building that serves as the office of the President of Argentina. You can join a free guided tour to delve into the country’s rich political history.
2⃣️ Plaza de Mayo: The central square of Buenos Aires, surrounded by numerous important historical buildings and monuments.

It’s a bustling hub of activity and a must-see.
3⃣️ Florida Street: A lively shopping and dining street where you can find everything from local souvenirs to international brands. I made sure to pick up some famous 🧉 Yerba Mate tea, a true taste of Argentina.
4⃣️ Obelisk: Located near Plaza de Mayo, this towering structure is one of the tallest obelisks in the world and a symbol of the city.
5⃣️ La Boca Neighborhood: This colorful and vibrant neighborhood is a quintessential part of Buenos Aires, known for its brightly painted houses and tango culture. It’s a photographer’s dream!
6⃣️ Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires: The largest Catholic church in Argentina, this grand architectural marvel is a landmark religious building in the heart of the city.
