Ushuaia Three-Day Adventure Tour: Explore Patagonia’s Hidden Gems

Three days starting from November 3rd is ample time to explore the captivating End of the World. Upon arrival, hop into an Uber for a swift and affordable ride downtown, costing around $10 USD.

When it comes to accommodations, Airbnb offers a plethora of charming and cost-effective options compared to traditional hotels. The scenery is breathtaking, as seen in the second picture, which captures the stunning view from my Airbnb. This cozy stay, located just a stone’s throw from the bustling downtown, cost approximately $270 CAD for three nights. Its central location makes it incredibly convenient, allowing you to easily walk to various attractions and dining spots.

After settling in, head straight to the port to book your Beagle Channel tour and penguin watching experience for the next day. Many travelers on Xiaohongshu highly recommend the Tolkeyen blue boat, known for its exceptional service. Paying in cash can get you a 10% discount, and I was fortunate enough to negotiate an 80% discount, bringing the price down to 100k pesos for a 5.

5-hour trip. To secure this deal, I politely inquired about the price of a nearby smaller vessel and asked if she could match it. She generously offered the 80% discount, making it even more affordable than the neighboring option. You can choose to set sail in the morning or afternoon; we opted for a 3 PM departure the following day, giving us a chance to sleep in a bit.

Picture 8 showcases the adorable penguins we spotted during our sea adventure. Don’t forget to bring your own wine and snacks, as the 5.5-hour journey is long, and onboard items are quite pricey. Additionally, pack sunglasses, a wool hat, and a scarf, as it can get very chilly out at sea.

After the boat trip, treat yourself to a delightful dinner. Both El Viejo Marino (The Old Captain) in picture 4 and Bamboo in picture 5 come highly recommended, offering delectable king crab dishes.

Before setting sail the next day, stop by the information center to pick up a free certificate and stamp. Next, visit the quaint post office in picture 3 to mail some postcards. Make sure to ask them to stamp it for a special touch. If you still have some time, take the one-hour tour bus ride shown in picture 6, which costs just 20k pesos.

For those who need Chinese audio, remember to bring your own wired headphones. The bus takes you on a scenic route around the city, showcasing its many highlights.

On the third day, enjoy a leisurely morning before taking an Uber to catch the End of the World train. We boarded the 12 PM train, which, at $90 CAD, is a bit on the pricier side. Students can enjoy a discount on park tickets with a valid student ID. After disembarking, embark on a scenic hike directly to the iconic End of the World post office for some memorable photos.

Then, catch the last 4 PM train back to the station. Afterward, we strolled through the downtown area to explore the vibrant handicraft market.

Wrap up your day with a delicious dinner, and that’s a wrap on your unforgettable adventure. You can exchange currency directly at restaurants or stores, typically at a rate of about 1 US dollar to 1050 pesos, or use your credit card for convenience.
