Where to Find the Best Budget Skiing in Bariloche Winter 2022?
We followed a budget travel route.
1. After arriving at Bariloche Airport, you can take bus 75 to the city center. The bus is located in the parking lot in front of the airport after disembarking. You can use Sube, and only Sube is accepted, no cash. So, it’s recommended that travelers bring a Sube card.

The fare is 62 pesos regardless of the distance. A taxi would cost 2500 pesos.
2. For Cerro Catedral, you can take bus 55 from the city center, which also costs 62 pesos. The round-trip cable car ticket is 4500 pesos. When we went, we couldn’t go up due to weather conditions 😥, as they said there was too much snow, so we didn’t get to ski.

3. Isla Victoria: Due to heavy snow, many attractions were closed. It’s more recommended to visit in summer. Departure times are fixed, at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM daily. The price is 8700 pesos. If you need pick-up and drop-off, add 1900 pesos. You can also take bus 20, which costs 62 pesos one way, taking about 40 minutes.

The final stop is the pier called Puerto Pañuelo, where you can board the boat. Upon arrival, you need to buy an entrance ticket for the park at the pier. For foreigners, it’s 2700 pesos; with a DNI (national ID), it’s 800 pesos; with a student ID, it’s 300 pesos. Additionally, there’s a port tax of 350 pesos.

It feels like it’s worth going in the summer.
4. Piedras Blancas: The scenery is amazing, and the weather was great when we went (so the weather on the day of travel is very important). We went with a tour group, which cost 7700 pesos. After reaching the mountain, you must store your bags as no backpacks are allowed inside.
Put on a helmet, get a skiing tool, queue for the cable car to the peak, and then queue to ski down. It was a lot of fun. The view here is really beautiful, with a distant lake in full view, and the feeling of being on top of the world from the summit. Highly recommended.
5. Circuito Chico: The weather was bad again 😂, so we didn’t take the cable car.
If you do, it costs 1600 pesos. The tour group costs 2400 pesos (excluding the cable car) and involves traveling by bus from one attraction to another, getting off to take photos.
6. Other: We didn’t go to Cerro Otto, but I know the cable car there also costs 4500 pesos. For Villa la Angostura, take bus 20 to Bariloche Terminal, buy a ticket, and make sure to bring physical identification.
The one-way fare is 770 pesos, and it takes about 2 hours to get there. We walked around the town, had lunch, and visited a few small attractions. Taxis to different attractions depend on luck, as they are not easy to find, and cost about 500 pesos. Buses run infrequently, accept cash, and cost 150 pesos per ride.
The bus schedule to Villa la Angostura can be checked on the Busplus website. From this terminal, you can also take a bus to El Bolsón, which takes two and a half hours, or to San Martin de los Andes, which takes three and a half hours.
