1. Kersbrook
Visited this charming spot two weeks ago, and it was bustling with visitors. While they didn’t boast about the size of their fruits, the freshness and affordability were undeniable. The owner’s hospitality was a delightful touch👌. Truly a great value for money. Their cherry ice cream, priced at 5🔪 each, was a delightful treat as well.

2. Fleurieu Cherries
This picturesque cherry farm in the south is a visual delight, beautifully adorned inside.
I stopped by a week ago, and the varieties on offer were Nancy white cherries and Glacier.
The cherries were a perfect balance of sweet and tart, incredibly fresh, especially the large, beautiful white cherries.
Their cherry ice cream is an absolute must-try, bursting with flavor!
The only downside is the slightly higher price point, but it’s worth every penny.

3. Harrisville Orchard
My visit today to this Adelaide Hills farm, which has gained quite a following on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Little Red Book, was a letdown 😭.
It’s the priciest option, and unfortunately, the most disappointing.
At 20🔪/kg, you could get similar quality from a supermarket, and many of the cherries were infested with bugs.

When I brought this up with the owner, he dismissed it, saying that all farms have issues with pests and birds. However, the extent of the damage was alarming [poor R]. For such a high price, one would expect premium quality, not subpar produce. The owner still insisted his cherries were top-notch [petrified R].

In the end, I just paid the entrance fee and left without purchasing any (only bought two buckets), essentially paying for a bumpy ride in a small off-road vehicle to the picking area.

4. Ancara Estate
Since we couldn’t pick cherries elsewhere, we decided to check out this place, just a 6-minute drive away. The difference in taste was remarkable—absolutely delicious, large, crisp, and sweet. All the best varieties were ripe and ready, and the picking conditions were fantastic, no need to crawl under nets.

The owner was incredibly welcoming, sharing insights about the cherries and even letting us explore the back area for the larger, sweeter ones. More details in the next review.
Entrance: 5🔪
Price: 16🔪/kg
Highly recommend this gem 👍
🍒Rainer: Large, sweet white cherries, the owner’s personal favorite.

Almost all were picked, so we felt lucky to snag some.
Stella: Heart-shaped, large cherries, a star variety known for its consistent quality, offering a perfect blend of sweetness and tartness.
Ancara has an abundance of these.
Van: Small in size with short stems, but packed with flavor, a delightful mix of sweet and sour.

Kordia: A strong recommendation, these black cherries are often referred to as the “Hermès” of cherries, extremely sweet, almost too much so. They’re a bit rarer, so if you go, make sure to grab plenty.
Lapin: I jokingly called them Lapin, but actually forgot the name [laughing R]. Fresh and delicious, with a slightly more acidic kick and a maroon color.
