Discover Hobart Salamanca Market: Must-Buy Unique Souvenirs and Local Delights

When visiting Tasmania, the Salamanca Market is a must-see. We strolled through it twice and found ourselves mostly unimpressed by the smaller trinkets (it’s fascinating how Chinese visitors often differ from foreigners; while foreigners are captivated by items that seem straight out of Yiwu, we tend to be more discerning, hahaha).

It’s this handmade wooden item!!
A super adorable wombat wood carving!
This wood has a unique, enchanting fragrance that becomes more and more addictive with each sniff.
I later discovered that this should be a special Tasmanian wood called Huon pine, which is quite a premium and rare type of wood.

I really regret not buying more of these wooden treasures because several stalls at the market offered exquisitely crafted wooden pieces, all carrying this delightful aroma!!
