Discover Perth: Affordable Self-Driving Trip Under $2000 Per Person Must-Do

Over 1000KM, 3️⃣ people, and we even had a whole giant 🦞 lobster. We were 3️⃣ people, it would be more cost-effective for 4️⃣ people!

Itinerary ————
Day 1: Perth city center — Lancelin Sand Dunes (2 hours drive) — Geraldton in the evening (2.5 hours drive)
Day 2: Geraldton — Pink Lake (if you leave at 9:30, you’ll arrive at 11:30, super pink) — Kalbarri — Geraldton (had dinner with ready-to-eat food from Coles in Geraldton, much cheaper than Sydney and Melbourne)
Day 3: Geraldton — Jurien Bay — Lobster Shack (perfect for lunch) — Pinnacles — Perth
🌟🌟🌟 Tips:
1️⃣ Jurien Bay, Lobster Shack, Pinnacles, and Lancelin Sand Dunes are close to each other, you can visit two on the way there and two on the way back, depending on your schedule!

2️⃣ It’s best to rent a 4WD, you can drive up the Lancelin Sand Dunes and Pinnacles, it’s really fun!
3️⃣ Gas stations are self-service, remember to pay by noting the pump number after filling up.
4️⃣ The Pink Lake is most beautiful around noon! Don’t go too early or past 3 PM.
4️⃣ The lobster restaurant serves meals from 11:00-15:00.

I saw that it will be closed from late March until April 5th, so be aware if you’re going during this time!
6️⃣ Highly encourage renting a car, as the route from Perth is easy to drive, with stunning natural scenery, and many places to stop. Mom recorded a lot of videos along the way, I think it can rival the beauty of National Highway 318, but it’s much easier to drive, just always remember to keep left!

Make sure to review traffic rules, and it’s best to do some practice questions. Also, Australians are very polite, so don’t be afraid!
