Discover Why My Favorite Australian City Surprisingly Isn’t Sydney or Melbourne
But it’s Adelaide in South Australia! A coastal gem surrounded by lush parks [Cute R]. The sprawling lawns that seem straight out of a movie, the breathtaking orange sunsets, the serene Ferris wheel on the beach, and the captivating sight of the city skyline with planes soaring overhead… all these enchanting scenes have left me yearning and almost disbelieving that I’ve been away for two months already [Frowning R].

🏃🏻♀️➡️City Walk Route Recommendation:
Start from any park → Victoria Square → Town Hall → St. Francis Xavier’s Cathedral → Central Market → Chinatown → Glenelg Beach

❓Why It’s My Favorite:
Adelaide, the fifth largest city in Australia and the capital of South Australia, is a true urban oasis. When you look at the map (Figure 13), you’ll see the city encircled by a stunning ring of green. The Adelaide Parklands, comprising over 27 urban parks, a botanical garden, and multiple playgrounds, create a picturesque grid around the city, adding a charming and cinematic “green” to every corner [Cute R].

No matter which direction you wander, you’ll be greeted by lush, verdant landscapes [Wow R]. As the sun sets, the golden light bathes the church buildings, and the sound of bells adds a layer of solemnity and depth to the city.

Of course, the seaside oyster bar where you can watch planes glide by is an unforgettable experience [Frowning R].

🍱Must-Try Foods:
1️⃣ Oysters! The Oyster Bar at Glenelg Beach is an absolute must-visit. This relaxing spot, even praised by celebrity chef Nicholas Tse, offers nine delectable flavors to tantalize your taste buds [Winking R]. Sitting in the outdoor area, you can savor the sunset while watching planes fly over the sea every ten minutes, creating a mesmerizing visual experience!

2️⃣ Chinese Cuisine! Adelaide’s Chinatown has a warm and inviting atmosphere, offering a more diverse and authentic culinary experience compared to Melbourne’s. From Xinjiang cuisine and hot pot to Chaozhou-Shantou dishes and Hong Kong-style roasted meats, there’s something for everyone. Don’t miss out on this culinary adventure!
